Officers and other ranks are trained in the same location in Lympstone Devon at the Commando Training Centre. You are expected to complete several apptitude tests, and also several gruelling physical examinations.</p>
<p>Joining the Royal Marines is possibly the most physically challenging thing you will ever have to go through. The training takes place on rugged terrain and is extremley physically exerting! This allows only the fittest and most suitable candidates through to the next stages of the application process.</p>

The selection process for the Royal Marines is a long and gruelling process, where applicants are expected to undergo numerous stages to whittle down applicants.</p>
<p>Selection weekends take place at different times each year and you should seek full time employment elsewhere in the army before applying to become a Royal Marine. Royal Marines are ruled by her majesty The Queen as her role is Commander in Cheif.</p>

They are known as an amphibious infantry and works along side Royal Navy and the Royal Fleet Auxillary. The Royal Marines have a potential man power of around 7500 as well as having a part time service that has around 100 extra troops. This takes the total up to 8500 at any one time.</p>
<p>The Royal marines are an amphibious force are capable of deploying at very short notice. The Royal Marines are one of the most manoeuvreable units within the military. They are trained in cold weather combat, and also jungle combat.</p>
